Ben Craven and the Section in association with the Yes Music Podcast are planning what we think is the first ever live, Progressive Rock session to be broadcast live on the web via You Tube Hangouts On Air.

The event takes place this Saturday, 11th May 2013, at 2.00pm UTC.

An unlimited number of prog fans can watch on the Yes Music Podcast YouTube Channel as the top Aussie outfit play live from their studio in Brisbane.

The session is also being recorded in full-quality audio to be released as an episode of the Yes Music Podcast shortly after the event.

A small number of fans can also join the Google Hangout – if you’d like to do that, please drop a line to: show@yesmusicpodcast.com

Join us for the prog rock event of the decade!

Assuming the technology doesn’t fail us, why not tune in on Saturday and witness the dawn of a new, virtual era for progressive rock? We’d love to see you there!

To get you in the mood for this fantastic event, here’s Ben Craven’s latest album:

My physical copy of Scott O’Reilly’s book – Yes and philosophy

I was delighted to receive a lovely physical copy of Scott O’Reilly’s remarkable book through the post recently. It’s a great read and even more pleasurable when you can hold the object in your hand.

Good work, Scott!

Lobate Scarp’s new album, ‘Time and Space’

Time and Space – a progressive space-opera rock odyssey

Adam Sears from Lobate Scarp was kind enough to send me the items you can see above all the way from the US. I was delighted to receive them.

The CD package has a great, full-colour booklet inside with photographs, lyrics, acknowledgements and even a proper explanation of the band name with illustration!

As you can see, the band members have even signed this copy so I feel very special!

Why not get yourself a copy of the physical CD? The music is excellent and holding the package in your hand is a delight.

Thanks so much, Adam!

Tom Brislin’s keyboard credit in my 2001 Symphonic Tour programme

I’m very excited to announce that Tom Brislin has agreed to be interviewed for the Yes Music Podcast in the New Year. As you can see from this image, I saw Tom play on Yes’ 2001 Tour in Birmingham, UK. He is also a solo artist and has recently released a new album which you can preview here:

I’m very much looking forward to asking Tom what it was like to work with members of Yes on tour and also about his own music.

So look out for the interview in the early weeks of 2013!

1st Yes Music Podcast Quiz – question 8

This is a free-to-enter quiz which is just for fun. There will be a very small prize for the person who answers the most questions correctly. The quizmaster’s decision is final on who has won etc. but let’s not get heavy – let’s just enjoy it!

Obscure this one…

Question 8 - Where is the image above from? This is a really tricky and obscure one so I’ll take the best, closest answer. You can probably get the general date and album, but this is from a very specific place.
